Discovering the North

Discovering the North

Discover the jewels of the island’s north — its famous botanical garden, the importance of sugar cane, and of course Port Louis, the island’s capital and a melting pot of cultures and traditions.

Description

Discover with us the north of the island, where one of the first visits will take you to explore one of the most important botanical gardens in the world, Pamplemousses, where you can see much of the island’s native flora and its famous giant water lilies.
At midday, we will visit Sugar World, where through the story of sugar cane your guide will take you on a journey through the island’s history, the importance of sugar cultivation, and you will also enjoy lunch.
We will then arrive in Port Louis, the capital — a melting pot of cultures and religions — where you will stroll through its old town and visit its famous, colorful market, with some free time to enjoy.
You will end your day with a stop at a viewpoint offering the best views of the city and a visit to the Tamil Kaylasson Temple, the oldest on the island.
